I agree on the mechanical pump outlasting electrical.

I have been owning and regularly driving Power-Wagons since 1980. I have experienced only two mechanical pumps failures during that time. On one (1981) the diaphragm failed. On the other (1989) the pivot pin fell out of the actuating lever (one of the cheap aftermarket pumps).

Of course, I have never had a reason to need or try an electrical pump. So maybe they last indefinitely?
