Yesterday after I finished the brake lines, I filled the MC to bleed the brakes. I started at the left rear, set up a hose and bottle, and started pressing the brake pedal. I have speed bleeders installed so it's a one man job bleeding brakes. As I pushed on the pedal I notice the fluid level was not receding in the MC reservoir, I bled before, I know it did work, so I pulled the bleeder screw out , pressed the pedal again, nothing. I then rechecked the lines, all clear no blockage made sure the proportion valve was wide open, again, no movement of fluid. So I thought maybe something with the MC or booster, so I began taking the nuts off the MC and as I was removing them I heard a big bang, and a spring reverberating sound. I finished taking off the MC, there was brake fluid at the booster rod, so I'm not sure what happened other than something was in a bind. After taking off the MC, I used a screwdriver and pressed on the piston and fluid squirted out so I know the MC is functional, I remounted the MC and tried again to bleed the brakes, nothing, I think it's a booster issue. I've attached a schematic of the dual booster and have indicated the angle it sets on the firewall and the angle of the rod. Everything I read says to place the pedal vertical, the rod should be 90 degrees
so I had to lower the original brake rod hole in the pedal by 3/4 of an inch to get the correct degrees. If I was to use the original hole, it would have been way off. Here are some questions:

1. Can the rod travel in the booster be pushed too far to cause something to bind?

2. Can the MC piston be pushed to far to cause it to bind or cause fluid to exit past the "C" clip at the piston stop?

3. Can you think of any reason that would have caused the booster to bind?

4. Am I using the wrong MC?

I think you can see my concern here, I would hate to have this condition hit me in traffic. If I can't find what caused this, then I'm skeptical to use a booster and will probably go from a 1.31" piston to a 1" DUAL MC with no booster. I'm too far along to install a hydroboost so that's not an option at this point. Any experience/advice is appreciated. Thanks!
