It's a thing. The firewall flexes when the pedals are pressed. Adding more support on the firewall helps, but you will never get rid of the issue without skinning the firewall with heavy sheet metal or very long braces.

One solution to the leaks would be to install short flex lines between the master cylinders and the steel lines.

The slight change in the angle of the master cylinders will not cause you any problems.
