reviving my PW

My B4 has been idle on stands for quite some time as I have been occupied with other projects. last thing I did was install Pertronix module and coil, I want to add an electric fuel pump and I'm interested in some tips and recommended brand of pump for the fuel line. Should i totally bypass the mechanical pump or continue to use it in conjunction with the electric pump?
