I actually had a couple warnings before the intercooler tube blew. I had a turbo error and a reduced power warning earlier in the day. They were reflecting the fact that the plastic connector was cracked and leaking. I inspected the failed part and there was some oil on the broken surfaces and a slight build up of oil and dust on the outside of the fitting. So it had been leaking for awhile then totally failed. The new part is stainless steel with silicon fittings like it should have been from the factory.
