My WDX now lives in Corpus Christi, TX. The new owner is a great guy and is more than happy with the truck. He even built a special "hurricane proof" structure to park it in, as those events are known to occur in that area. I intend to introduce him to this forum as soon as all the obvious early-owner questions are covered.
Here's a question we talked about. Since the truck has been here in Northern Idaho, I filled the differentials, transmission, and transfer case with 80-90 gear oil. I used EZ Flow Lithium grease in the front hubs, steering box, and winch.(TThis made me reflect on a rather amusing 2009 thread re EZ Flow Lithium vs Corn Head grease, complete with the usual wit) :):):)
Since most of the time in Corpus Christi he tells me it's in the 90s and 100s, should he consider changing all of these fluids to something heavier?
Personlly I think the limited use most of these trucks get, the lighter gear oil might even be better everywhere.
