I'm a firm believer in the vintage Carter Lifetime Ceramic filter. If you get one with the "Magnatrap" feature in the cap that captures the smallest rust particles, and the blue marine-grade element, you've bought the best. Clean the element once a year, and it will be the last filter you buy.
