Bruce...we have lots of cold weather and lots of power outages during winter. I set up a 12 volt battery with an invverter to power my daughter's garage door opener. Also has a maintainer for the battery. I'm sure the air purifier requires a lot less than the opener.
Just match the inverter's output to the purifier's required amperage.
