Waking up my truck

Hello all,
I am waking up my 53 B4 and though on stands, I am not sure how to go about it. I am in the process of converting it to 12 volt. I have 1 wire alternator I picked up from VPW a few years back. I want change out the old starter. MY truck as a 251 squeezed in so it will have the original ring gear on the fly wheel. I am returning it back to the mechanical fuel pump. I need to replace bulbs and distributor? how about the gauges?
The metal pointer on the timing chain cover fell off so I need to find another. Timing needs to be set so I find TDC and arrange plugs in correct firing order?
