WOW, that was a long time ago.

I started the Forum, before dodgepowerwagon.com was a thing. I did mail (USPS, not email) Gordon Maney to include thw addres of the Forum in the Power Wagon Advertiser, so I think the Forum got some traction after appearing in the PWA.

I had an interesting conversation with Gordon about having a place online for Power Wagon enthusiasts. This was when the PWA was the only source of information I had for Power Wagons, and before Gordon opened his own website.

I emember Gordon asking me if I thought that online forums would replace the printed media that we all looked forward to every month. At the time, I told Gordon I hoped that the PWA would still be published, because I really enjoyed picking up a magazine, and reading through the personal stories, and technical articles.

This was way back when the Forum was in its infancy, before Facebook, Reddit etc.

I think the Forum became a good tool for us, in the sense that we could get answers to technical questions, in a short amount of time, from people who have had come up against the same problem. It is a good place to ask for parts, sell trucks, and make a lot of friends with similar interests.

If Gordon was around today, and asked me if the Forum would still remain relevant in the realm of Facebook, AI, and whatever comes next, I'm not sure how I would answer that question. But, for now, we are still here, and still relavant. Maybe not as well visited as we once were, but certainly conversing with the best people on earth.
