Where I used to work back in the 80's they had a private
rail siding with switches and track to different warehouses.
This was done in case truck shipping could not be done for whatever reason, moving to shipping product by train was possible without delay. They a small railroad mule, a little larger than a full size pickup, but wider. Solid rubber tires
ran on the rails to drive he mule. It also had 4 steel railroad about 12 inches in diameter to keep it on the track. The mule had a large air compressor to charge the cars air brake and release it. On the opposite end of the car being moved was closed fitting that attached to the car's air brake line so air pressure could be made in the brake system. The most I ever saw moved was two box cars.
