I agree. As time went on, by the later 1800's and the 20th century, boiler explosions were not common.
The first thing they teach you in Steam Schools is that there is absolutely no excuse for boiler explosions.
Diesels offer efficiency, lower maintenance, less frequent stops, and fewer workers. Not unlike today where we replace workers with robots and AI.
