I was surprised to see that the shop manual drawings showed #1 wire for both + & - battery cables. I expected to see 1/0. I used 1/0 on my rewiring for the WDX, even though I converted to 12 volt.
My understanding is amperage is higher in 6 volts than 12 volts, which is why the wire size is larger.
