Every winter I read the past issues of Gordon Maneys PWA when the weather is bad. I have every issue since I subscribed in 1987. Dont know why I never noticed this before,but the specs on ignition timing caught my eye. Gordon had reprints in the magazine issues covering all the different Carter carburetor models and specifications on settings. I noticed ignition timing specs for different carburetor ranged from 6 degrees BTDC to 1 degree ATDC. My 230 is best at TDC with a ETW1 carburetor. What are others finding is the better setting on your 230 engine.
