One thing to watch out for with that engine. The valve covers leak very badly at the rear especially as the engine is tilted to the rear. They really dumped a lot of oil down the back side of the engine.
The original valve covers are usually bent from tightening the bolts as they are thin metal. I went with a pair of Edelbrach aluminum valve covers. They too leaked but it was because the bolts would loosen with time from the heating and cooling. I ended up, based on a local speed shop, gluing an extra thick gasket that they had to the valve cover. Then on the head side I used a Product called Gasgacinch and used lock washers and washers on the bolts to keep them tight. The only reason I used washers was to stop the lock washers from tearing up the valve cover. It has worked as its been 10 years since it has leaked.
