1966 FFPW wheelbase

Mine measures 124 3/4" wheel center to wheel center. I thought it is supposed to be 126". The frame has welding on the bottom of the c-channel and reinforcing added to the sides, but I see no evidence of any welding on the top edge of the c-channel, so it doesn't look like it's been shortened. Any thoughts?
