Or possibly pilot bushing is damaged, or improperly sized. If not checked prior to installation, even a few thousands of an inch could be enough to interfere. With the flood of import parts nothing can be overlooked.
Hard to arm-chair with all the possibilities.
BTW...Your project is coming along real well.
