Once in awhile it will tag 3200 RPM but the happy place is 1700 0 2300 RPM and I tend to keep it there. Temps are fine - engine runs cool (I thought it ran hot - then I got an accurate temp gauge) Oil temps are perfect and EGTs are on the low side. 1100 max on a long hill climb. Had several diesel mechanic listen to it and all have said it sounds great - none of them have an answer for the puffs out the intake but there is a sound that comes with it that sounds like the rumble of exhaust - which sure sounds like compression getting into a cylinder. What I am now afraid of is taking the truck on a long trip and blowing a chunk out of the head gasket and not getting home.
