I have those same front and rear turn signals on my WDX. I have found that they do not show up well at all on sunny days. Martie has followed me in another vehicle (sometimes my B3PW) and she says they are very hard to see in bright daylight.
So, I always use hand signals in conjunction with the arrow turn signals when I am driving that particular truck.
I think that most people today have no idea what hand signals mean and probably wonder what that idiot in the old piece of junk is doing sticking his arm out the window. But, it gets people's attention.
With that said, it is 6:30 A.M. here this morning. By 9:00 A.M. I will be on the road with the WDX to go display at the Old Thresher's Reunion about two hours away.
