A few years ago the Pertronix on the slant six in my '67 D100 failed on me, leaving me on the side of the road. The failure was the black wire breaking off right where it enters into the pickup unit inside the distributor. After diagnosing the issue I pulled the distributor and a fellow that lived nearby drove me to his place where I was able to reconnect the wire with a solder gun after digging out some of the black plastic housing material to expose more of the wire. I purchased another unit but left the repaired one in there where it still is doing what it is supposed to do.

No issues other than this. It was already installed when I bought the truck.
