I'm not sure where red line is with the 230, max HP is produced around 3600 rpm, maybe red line 4500? You can cruise at 60% redline so that would be 2700rpm for endurance. Stock truck can cruise at 2500, 42mph using 5.83 and 900 tires. Using same configuration at 55mph, engine is turning close to 3600rpm. If redline were at 5000rpm, 60% is 3000rpm. If the truck was intended to cruise at 3600rpm, that would put the redline at 6000rpm, way above stock design. I guess therefore I see the 55mph listed as max speed on the tag, but not intended as cruising speed.
2000-2500 is a comfortable engine speed, doesn't hurt the engine, and the roads I drive on, I don't think I want to go much faster, just to rough a ride.
